Osram at the Light+Building 2018

How will you live in the Future

OSRAM answered this question at its booth during Light+Building 2018.

After serving as general contractor in 2016, prio Event Management returned for the same role this year, taking charge of OSRAM’s full trade show presence. The results from the visitor surveys in 2016 were impressive enough, but we managed to improve on them this year.

Prio developed a communications concept that functioned on three levels. It addressed the megatrends that will shape our lives in the future, the specific challenges they will present for humans and the lighting industry, and the solutions that OSRAM has developed.

Interactive showcases combined analogue and digital elements and turned the booth into an experience. Staff from prio technology were responsible for technically planning and realising the concepts created by prio Event. They ranged from a virtual bike tour through the city of the future to facial recognition from OSRAM Opto Semiconductors.

In terms of overall design, the booth was all about clarity and generous dimensions. A 360° banner created a stylish bracket for both the design and the content. The LightCube was the main eye-catching feature. Developed and realised by prio technology, the cube lent its surfaces to content and moods, and became everyone’s favourite photo subject from day one.

The media products for the LightCube used a collection of icons to develop short stories that sketched out OSRAM’s solutions for the future. For the booth party, the LightCube transformed into a Disco Ball 4.0.

OSRAM’s highlight at Light+Building 2018 was its presentation of the first Lightelligence™ open platform. During a press conference, Dr Berlien, Dr Kampmann and Thorsten Müller explained the many possibilities that the platform offers for developers and other partners in the lighting industry. The extensive media coverage and the discussions held at the event showed how important innovative solutions are for the future.

All in all, this was a great project and a major success for OSRAM and our agency, prio Event Management.
